very good condition and very good running loco.

Fully serviced (cleaned, oiled/gresed, wheels and pick ups cleaned, mechanisim/gears inspected for cracks) and Tested on track for 30 minutes in each direction DCC compatible, fitted with a 5 pole skew wound motor located in the locomotive, sprung buffers and NEM couplings.

The Great Eastern Railway built a trio of similar 4-4-0 Classes, named 'Claud Hamiltons' - the S46 class, D56 and H88 Class. The latter of these became the D16/3 class under LNER ownership. These locomotives were rebuilds of the original 2 classes by Nigel Gresley and featured a round-top firebox, some with piston valves. None of the class have been preserved.
