The Morris Minor was launched at the London Motor Show in September 1948. Between then and the end of production in 1971, over 1.3 million had been manufactured with several variations including the Morris 1000 van, which became available from 1953 right to the end in 1971/2.

They were the favourite small vans for commercial use. 

Technically, they differed from the saloon in that they had a separate chassis, stiffer rear springs and lower ratio differentials to cope with heavier loads.
