The AEC Monarch was built from 1931-1939 at the Southall Works of the Associated Equipment Company Ltd. It was fitted with either a four cylinder diesel engine of 6.7 litres developing 85 h.p. or a four cylinder petrol engine of 5.1 litres developing 80 h.p..
Being a robust and well designed lorry it was popular with drivers and operators alike.
Lorries of very similar appearance such as the Mercury & Mammoth were built into the 1950's.
The lorry featured in this kit would be suitable for a model railway layout of any period between 1931 and 1962.
This kit features a tanker body used for deliveries of oil and chemicals to industry, petrol, heating oil, milk and farming products.
With a little imagination an aircraft refuelling tanker or a road tar spraying lorry can be made.
For the railway modeller a depot could be built for milk shipment or oil distribution involving trans-shipment from rail tank wagons.
This kit includes glazing and is complete except for paint and liquid cement.
