fourth in the sries of BRM limited edition wagons is this 7 plank Gloucester Gaslight Company wagon which was used to take coal from the collieries to the gas works via the Midland Railway line and later LMS up until WW2.  Contracts specified that a reduction in price of 2 shillings per ton would be granted if the gas company sent their own wagons and as the gas works were located not far from the Glocester Railway Carraige and Wagon Co. it was natural that the Gloucester Gaslight Co. should have patronised them for their wagons.

Part of an order for 20 wagons placed in 1924 No. 37 is a standard R.C.H. 7 plank side and end door vehicle registered with LMS.

At bottom left in italics is "empty to" and a plate attached which reads "empty to Rothervale colliery".  When this wagon was built Rothervale Colliery were a long term supplier of coal to the gasworks but a detachable plate could have been lettered to any of the collieries that held contracts.
