The Morris Minor was launched at the London Motor Show in September 1948. Between then and the end of production in 1971, over 1.3 million had been manufactured with several variations including the Morris 1000 van, which became available from 1953 right to the end in 1971/2.

They were the favourite small vans for commercial use, the most famous of which was the General Post Office. Technically, they differed from the saloon in that they had a separate chassis, stiffer rear springs and lower ratio differentials to cope with heavier loads.

This livery on our Oxford Morris 1000 van is in plain sandy beige with black chassis, relieved by the colourful Morris Oxford badge in red, blue and silver on the front radiator grille, as well as silver masking to door handles, window surrounds and bumpers.

The vehicle is registered RMF 476 and the front and rear lights are highlighted in red and orange.
