A Fogman, when fog or snow reduced visibility, placed detonators on the rails ahead of signals or temporary speed restrictions imposed due to works etc. to provide additional warning to train drivers.

Pre-cast in concrete. the Fogmans Hut is a typical example of a Southern Region Trackside building.

The set includes a set of platelayers tools which might be seen lying casually beside the track or leaning up against the hut or the lineside huts (Kit nos. 511 & 518)

Glue and paint are required to complete this kit.
