The AEC Monarch was built from 1931-1939 at the Southall Works of the Associated Equipment Company Ltd. It was fitted with either a four cylinder diesel engine of 6.7 litres developing 85 h.p. or a four cylinder petrol engine of 5.1 litres developing 80 h.p..
Being a robust and well designed lorry it was popular with drivers and operators alike.
Lorries of very similar appearance such as the Mercury & Mammoth were built into the 1950's.
The lorry featured in this kit would be suitable for a model railway layout of any period between 1931 and 1962.
This kit features a flat bed side body such as was favoured by many operators for carrying machinery and general goods loads such as sacks when sheeted and roped.
This kit includes glazing and is complete except for paint and liquid cement.
