CC1010 Cooper Craft GWR Cattle Wagon W1/W5

This kit depicts the standard G.W.R. cattle wagon built between 1888 & 1911.

Over 1,800 wagons were produced in this series, many of which lasted until the end of cattle traffic in B.R. days.

The wagons were originally provided with lever-brakes on one side only, and grease axle boxes. Later on in life (post-1902), many but not all carried DCIII vacuum brakes and oil type axle boxes (some being converted, others being newly built), as provided for in the kit. The non-vacuum types were given diagram W1, while the vacuum-braked types were diagram W5.

This kit contains transfers, steel ballast weight and pinpoint bearings plastic wheelsets. Tension lock couplings are provided, a are bases for fitting Peco Magni-Simplex couplings, three link couplings can also be fitted.

Metal wheels with 2mm brass bearings may be substituted if desired.
