About Us

British Model Trains is owned and operated by a British railway modeler who models the BR Eastern region between 1956 and 1967.  My home is Shildon in County Durham, often referred to as the cradle of the railways.  My family was a railway family working at Shildon and Darlington North Road workshops: my father and both grandfathers were railway fitters, my great grandfather worked in the forge and another was a railway blacksmith, with earlier generations working as drivers, firemen and other railway trades.

My modelling interests include steam and diesel and enjoy kit building, scratch building and modifying ready to run models.
