HORNBY: Following the closure of the Canadian Hornby importer in 2023 we have contacted Hornby numerous times to secure continued supply of Hornby products to supply our Canadian customers. Unfortunately Hornby steadfastly refuse to communicate with us. Regretfully we have concluded that Hornby has no desire to support the Canadian market. Please note all kits require a plastic glue and painting to complete.

Area: 1 pair of gates as shown, Each 95 X 17mm + plastic cobbled stone and planked track crossing.

These distinctive gates were one of the many different types used to separate road from rail.

Most of the Time the gates were set across the track, but because trains took precedence over road traffic and pedestrians the gates were moved across the road to allow trains safe ,ovement.

The task of moving the gates was undertaken by a crossing keeper or signalman. if there was no signal box nearby, Often a cabin (SS 29) was provided, sometimes with a cottage (SS39) for the crossing keeper.

This single track crossing features one of the many different types of gates used where roads had to cross the railway on the level. Kit includes 1 pair of gates 95mm x 17mm, plastic cobblestone roadway and a planked crossing deck.  

Supplied with pre-coloured parts although painting and/or weathering can add realism.
